By leveraging our sector and market experience as well as our legal and tax skills, you can feel secure in the knowledge that we will handle complex issues on your behalf, whilst providing you with expert strategic advice when the need arises.
Tax advisory, disputes and compliance
We advise on all aspects of UK income and capital taxation for individuals, owner-managed and family-owned businesses, trusts and asset holding structures. We also support our clients undergoing tax investigations, disclosures and settlements and assist with tax compliance work such as making returns to HMRC and regularising tax affairs. We have particular expertise in advising multi-jurisdictional individuals, families and structures on the international elements of UK tax and the complex rules governing non-UK domiciled individuals.
Contentious trusts and probate
If you are concerned that a vulnerable relative is coming under pressure to settle their affairs in a certain way, or an unforeseen issue emerges during the administration of an estate, we can advise you on your position, and on the right course of action.
Trust, structuring and succession planning
We advise clients on the most effective solutions for wealth structuring in the UK and abroad. We advise on many different structures to achieve family succession and asset protection goals for personal or business assets, be that use of UK or offshore trusts, corporates, family investment companies, foundations, funds, insurance or investment products.
A valid Will is the cornerstone of an individual’s estate, succession and tax planning. We assist clients with drafting and regularly updating their Wills, particularly when there has been a change in personal or family circumstances. We advise international clients on the need for UK Wills and the interaction of testamentary regimes globally so that their succession objectives can be met.
Powers of attorney and mental incapacity
Dealing with mental incapacity is a growing challenge. Our experts can guide clients through the different options available including Lasting Powers of Attorney, so that our clients’ financial and health affairs are administered by someone they trust - and their best interests are protected. We also advise those clients who are acting as an Attorney or court-appointed Deputy on the duties and responsibilities that come with these roles.
Probate and estate administration
We are experienced in the administration of simple or complex estates and can manage the process on your behalf or advise on particular aspects as required. We administer estates for both UK and non-UK domiciled individuals and have particular expertise in working on estates with multi-jurisdictional issues.
Charity and philanthropy
We advise on the whole spectrum of charitable and philanthropic giving from creation and structuring, registration, trustee duties and responsibilities, regulatory compliance, restructuring and governance, tax aspects of charitable giving and indeed dispute resolution.
We provide a full trust accounting, compliance and administration service to assist trustees of UK trusts in carrying out their various responsibilities, including liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, investment managers, HMRC and other regulatory authorities.
We advise on the creation, governance, regulation, tax planning, investment structures, succession planning, investment, employment and immigration issues relating to private offices, their employees and the families they serve, often on an international basis.
Private client disputes
We have wide expertise in resolving disputes for our private clients and in contentious trust and probate scenarios (including potential claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act).

News / Changes to probate application process and submission of inheritance tax accounts for deaths on or after 1 January 2022
On 1 January 2022, The Inheritance Tax (Delivery of Accounts) (Excepted Estates) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 came into effect. They extended the 2004 Regulations so that the majority of non-taxpaying estates are no longer required to complete IHT forms in cases where a grant is required. The new Regulations serve to minimise the administrative burdens imposed on those dealing with IHT by reducing the reporting requirements for excepted estates and limiting the circumstances in which full inheritance tax accounts must be delivered to HMRC. The new Regulations, however, will only apply to estates or deaths that occur on or after 1 January 2022.
