Andy's broad contentious experience encompasses the full range of disputes arising in relation to the international carriage of goods by sea, but has also developed expertise in handling disputes arising under contracts for the sale and purchase of vessels.
Andy’s experience includes litigation arising from marine casualties, in particular vessel groundings and claims relating to port safety, as well as the provision of salvage services, the supply of vessels and equipment for offshore projects and disputes arising under contracts of marine insurance.
He also has particular experience of drafting, negotiating and litigating a range of commercial shipping agreements, including various standard form contracts for the shipping and offshore sectors, including the BIMCO Saleform and Supplytime.

In this bulletin, we will consider how force majeure events are defined and how this is relevant to the yacht industry in the context of COVID-19, with a particular focus on yacht-building contracts and yacht charters.
