Nigel specialises in advising to clients in the entertainment and media sectors. As a former head of artist and repertoire at a record label, he has extensive industry experience. He advises rightsholders, promoters, producers and creatives on the commercialisation (including live, physical and digital exploitation), protection and sale of business and personal media and entertainment rights and opportunities. He also has experience of advising a number of charities involved in the entertainment sector.
Nigel assists a wide spectrum of clients, from large multinational companies, to emerging artists and businesses, on commercial ventures, transactions and disputes. He has particular experience of advising both start-ups and developed brands engaged in emerging and disruptive technologies and businesses. He also assists legacy clients faced with the clash between older agreements and newer technologies and business models. His years of experience in the entertainment industry is of major advantage in this regard.
Nigel is also steeped in charity work. He was a trustee of Versus Cancer for 5 years, assists many charities on their projects and is currently an independent trustee of a major new charity in the live entertainment sector.
Prior to joining Ince in 2014, Nigel worked at a number of other leading law firms.
