With all existing EU and UK trade mark and design registrations, it is possible to register an address for service, which will then act as your trade mark representative.

EU trade mark registrations

• Following the end of the Brexit transition period, on 1 January 2021 it will no longer be possible to have a firm or organisation with a UK address as your address for service with respect to your EU registration(s).
• If you currently have a UK address for service, you will need to replace this with an EU address. We can assist with this and outline further details below.

UK trade mark registrations

• On 1 January 2021, all existing EU registrations will be ‘mirrored’ to create identical equivalent UK registrations (for more detail, read our article here).
• Your mirrored UK trade mark registration will require an address for service with a UK, Gibraltar or Channel Islands address.

For equivalent UK trade mark registrations created on 1 January 2021, we can act as your UK address for service free of charge. Equally, one of our EU based offices (in Germany, Greece and Cyprus) can act as your EU trade mark registration’s address for service free of charge. As your address for service, in either the EU or the UK, we will monitor your trade mark registrations and notify you of upcoming renewal dates. Therefore, we are well placed to assist and streamline both UK and EU projects.
