Licensed premises | Temporary event notices

As a premises licence holder, you may wish to wish to extend your licensable hours and activities to host temporary events such as private parties and comedy clubs, or to collaborate with music festivals and fashion weeks.

We are in regular contact with many local authority licensing departments and work closely with them to ensure temporary events are authorised for our clients with minimal objections. Should there unfortunately be an objection to your event, we will work closely with all parties to agree detailed conditions to ensure the event is successful.

Case Studies

  • Instructed by an exclusive west end nightclub, Chinawhite, where we were able to carefully prepare a temporary event notice plan covering all major events a year in advance. We were in regular communication with the police and environmental health and promptly dealt with any issues or concerns raised by a licensing officer within 24 hours of receiving the complaint. We then offered a number of additional conditions to apply for the duration of the events to avoid any repeated nuisance and ensure smooth running of future events.
  • Securing a TEN for an independent café bar on Kensington Park Road for the Notting Hill Carnival. The police raised concerns in relation to the off-sales application and we negotiated additional conditions to ensure this would not impact the dispersal of attendees in the evening.
  • Acting for the Oxford Union in relation to extending hours for evenings hosting debating events
