New aircraft

We are an international law firm whose lawyers have significant experience of the purchase of all types of new aircraft, spare engines and buyer furnished equipment from the leading manufacturers.

We are highly experienced in the negotiation of spare engine purchase and risk transfer engine total care agreements across multiple engine types. We know well how much value can be added to your operations by assisting you to get the very best possible terms. Our team’s knowledge of the aviation industry and its technical and operational background is particularly strong; we know how the industry works so we can get to the heart of what matters for you, swiftly.

The praised for its ‘can-do attitude’.  Legal 500
Our lawyers have more experience of negotiating purchases of the Airbus A380 (now over 100), than we believe any other team of external lawyers; we particularly understand the range of concerns that operators can have bringing such large aircraft into their fleet. Our clients have selected both Rolls-Royce Trent 900 and Engine Alliance GP7000 engines and we are very familiar with both engines.

You can also have confidence that we routinely work with the leading global airlines and new aircraft purchase advisory companies. We have probably worked with yours. If you have not yet appointed one we are able to make recommendations.

We are sensible and flexible about fees giving you the opportunity to pay for what you want – and not what you don’t.

We advise on:

  • Drafting and negotiating new aircraft purchase requests for proposal (RFPs) with all the major manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Negotiating new aircraft purchase letters of intent (LOIs) and memoranda of understanding (MOUs)
  • Negotiating new aircraft purchase agreements and side letter agreements
  • Negotiating spare engine purchase agreements and risk transfer engine total care agreements and other power by the hour agreements
  • Negotiating buyer furnished equipment (BFE) purchase agreements including seats and galleys
  • New aircraft deliveries (we have offices in France and Germany)
You can be confident that we will protect your interests at every stage. We are also known by the major OEMs as being the lawyers who look after their clients tenaciously whilst seeing that the deal the client wants to do, gets done.
We have experience of advising on new aircraft purchase agreements for the following aircraft types: A380-800, B777-300ER, B777-300, B777-200ER, B777-200, B777-200LGW, B767-300ER, B737-800, A340-600, A340-500, A330-200 and A300-600R.

We also advise on aircraft finance; many clients find this helpful even at the early stage of negotiating new aircraft purchases.

We work as a seamless global team to provide the best support and services to each client. This unusual non-silo approach is praised by clients and directories alike. New aircraft procurement work may therefore be handled by the integrated global team, spanning our London, Paris, Dubai and Shanghai offices, as appropriate.
