Zeldar specialises in both contentious and non-contentious shipping and trade matters.

Zeldar advises Chinese and international ship owners, shipyards, charterers, traders and P&I Clubs on a wide range of complex , multi-jurisdictional and cross border disputes, including shipbuilding, charterparty, cargo claims, bills of lading, and trading and commercial contract disputes. She has a wealth of experiences in handling international arbitrations including HKIAC, SIAC and ICC, as well as Hong Kong court litigations.

In addition to contentious work, Zeldar assists clients in drafting, reviewing and negotiating shipbuilding, charterparties and sale of goods contracts. She also advises traders in soft and hard commodities (such as grain, soya beans, cement, metals and minerals) and on issues arising from sale contracts, transportation and trade finance.

Zeldar is recommended by Legal 500 as a Next Generation Lawyer for Shipping in China.

Admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong, Zeldar previously worked in another international shipping firm in Hong Kong for 6 years before joining Ince in 2011.

Highlight Matters:

  • Advised a Chinese shipyard in a US$75million ship conversion dispute and arbitration hearing in London
  • Advised a leading trading company in several multi-jurisdictional cases in respect of the trading of iron ore. The total disputed amount is around US$10million
  • Advised in a London arbitration in respect of an unsafe port claim and the total loss of a vessel after grounding. The total amount in disputes was around US$150million
  • Advised shipowners in a US$18 million bareboat charter dispute. This dispute also involved US bankruptcy proceedings
