Samuel provides dispute resolution, transactional and general commercial law advice to clients in the shipping, international trade, commodities and energy sectors. He also frequently advises major Chinese banks on refund guarantee issues. He is dual qualified as a lawyer in China and England & Wales, which is of major benefit to the firm’s multi-national clients.

Samuel joined the firm in 2011, and was seconded to its London office between 2016-17. Prior to joining, he worked for a leading Chinese shipping law firm in Shanghai for over three years.

Samuel participated in the Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme for Young Chinese Lawyers 2010/11 in London, where he undertook practical training at a leading City firm, as well as a barristers’ chambers. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Yantai University and a Master’s Degree in International Law from East China University of Political Science and Law.
