Rachel is a shipping litigation lawyer, advising on all aspects of wet and dry shipping. She has a particular focus on admiralty matters and has acted on many high profile and multi-jurisdictional cases. Her clients include shipowners, charterers, P&I Clubs, H&M underwriters and defence clubs.

Rachel often advises on issues arising from marine casualties, including collisions, fires, groundings and wreck removals. She has experience of dealing with matters involving the limitation of liability, unsafe ports, general average and salvage.

Rachel also regularly advises on dry shipping issues, such as charterparty disputes, management agreement disputes, cargo claims and marine insurance coverage issues. She has also acted in multiple large offshore disputes, representing owners of offshore vessels and offshore contractors.

  • Acting for owners in claims both for and against their vessel arising out of a “putting by” incident in London arbitration.
  • Acting for owners in a general average and transshipment dispute in London arbitration.
