Jake is a dispute resolution specialist, advising on a broad range of civil litigation for commercial clients of all sizes.

Jake’s expertise includes contractual disputes, partnership disputes, professional negligence claims (including against solicitors and IFAs), arbitration and shareholder disputes. 

Recent work includes acting as part of the legal team for a defendant partner/shareholder in successfully establishing that a number of assets held in the UK and abroad worth substantially more than £10m were partnership assets and resisting a related unfair prejudice petition.

Jake joined Ince in 2013, having previously worked at another law firm for over 10 years.

  • Acting as part of the legal team for a defendant partner/shareholder in successfully establishing that a number of assets held in the UK and abroad worth substantially more than £10m were partnership assets and resisting a related unfair prejudice petition.
  • Acting for the claimant filmmaker in successful proceedings against Lucasfilm for procuring a breach of contract in relation an abortive film of an unofficial Star Wars fan convention.
  • Acting for the majority shareholders in resisting allegations of unfair prejudice in relation to an international office supply business. The matter was ultimately settled on satisfactory terms.
  • Acting for the (Part 20) claimant music publisher in successful proceedings for misrepresentation arising out of the alleged assignment of copyright in a hit song.  The claimant was awarded damages and costs at trial.
  • Acting as part of the legal team for the claimants in proceedings arising out of the sale of an onshore oil and gas field.
  • Acting for the defendant in an LCIA arbitration arising out of the auctioning of Russian art.
  • Acting for the defendant in proceedings arising from the alleged breach of a currency exchange contract.
