David is a Solicitor (England & Wales) and a Mariner (Deck Officer) specialising in Admiralty Law. David is a key member of the firm’s international emergency response team and has advised on numerous high profile and high value maritime casualties and claims. David also advises on dry shipping disputes that frequently arise out of a maritime casualty.

David has handled and advised on numerous maritime causalities. His experience includes: collisions, groundings, fire/explosions, salvage, unsafe port claims, heavy weather damage, total loss, cargo damage, dangerous cargo issues, MARPOL violations and offshore collisions.

David has extensive experience of supporting and assisting clients in the local management of a casualty, and the investigations that are undertaken by the Authorities and/or Third Parties.

Having previously sailed on container vessels, David has a comprehensive knowledge of container vessels. He is able to provide both practical and legal advice on container related matters and container ship specific casualties

Before joining Ince, David spent 9 years at sea with P&O Nedlloyd, Maersk Line and Swire Pacific Offshore, serving on post-panamax container vessels, AHTS and PSV vessels
