Gillian is a Partner and Head of Medical Negligence. She is known for her success in winning compensation and for her commitment to bringing about change so that medical mistakes are not repeated.
Gillian specialises in claims arising from medical accidents at birth resulting in injury to the mother or baby and deal with cases involving cerebral palsy, erb’s palsy following shoulder dystocia, significant post-partum injuries to the mother and psychiatric claims. She has successfully obtained compensation in complex birth injury claims involving periventricular leukomalacia, delay in delivery, failure to monitor CTGs and consent to mode of delivery.
Gillian also has experience in dealing with medical negligence cases involving spinal injury (including cauda equina), delay in diagnosis of cancer, stroke care, paediatric and neonatal care amongst others.
She represents clients at Coroner's inquests and is particularly interested in inquests involving geriatric care where medical neglect is alleged and failure to prevent suicide psychiatric claims.
Gillian has been accredited by The Law Society as a specialist in medical negligence since 2013 and is also accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
