Possible Reform to the Law on Insurable Interest
On 27 March 2015 the Law Commissions of England & Wales and of Scotland published an Issues Paper setting out revised proposals for reform to the law on insurable interest (having previously discussed this issue and made proposals for reform in a 2008 Issues Paper and 2011 Consultation Paper).
They are consulting on the revised proposals with a view to introducing a package of reform measures in a Bill to come into law via the special Parliamentary procedure for uncontroversial Law Commission Bills.

QBE Europe SA/NV and another v. Generali Espana de Seguros y Reaseguros  EWHC 2062 (Comm) In this case, a Spanish insurer sought to assert a direct right of action against a UK insurer in Spanish proceedings. The English Court found that the Spanish proceedings had been brought in contravention of a London arbitration agreement in the relevant liability insurance policy and granted an anti-suit injunction to restrain those proceedings.
