Ince China hires Zhao Rong Ooi as Partner to further grow its Greater China team
11 February 2020, Hong Kong: International legal and professional services firm Ince has today announced the appointment of Zhao RongOoi, a seasoned commercial litigator, as a new Partner in its Hong Kong office. This appointment highlights the firm’s commitment to further expand its dispute resolution practice across the region.
Zhao Rong has amassed a wealth of experience advising Chinese state-owned enterprises and listed and private companies. His work has focused on complex cross-border litigation and arbitrations in Hong Kong, Singapore and London, as well as disputes involving British Virgin Island (BVI) laws.
He also brings with him an in-depth knowledge of working with banks, private equity funds, high-tech companies and shareholders on multi-jurisdictional and high value disputes. Prior to joining Ince, Zhao Rong worked for international and offshore law firms in Hong Kong and Singapore. He is a CEDR accredited mediator and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Zhao Rong will focus on enhancing Ince’s commercial litigation and international arbitration practice which will now cover broader areas of expertise and industry sectors, including technology, financial services, projects and infrastructure, as well as offshore markets.

The appointment follows successful lateral hires in Spring 2019, when Ince Hong Kong was joined by three partners and a team of over 30 lawyers and professional services staff, significantly increasing the size of the office. Ince China, which comprises of offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, has successfully expanded its service offering into banking and finance, corporate and M&A, capital markets and construction.
