Rania Tadros and Paul Katsouris shortlisted for the DIFC Academy of Law awards

Our team in Dubai is extremely proud of Rania Tadros and Paul Katsouris for being shortlisted for the prestigious “Lawyer of the Year” and “Young Lawyer of the Year” awards, presented by the DIFC Academy of Law. Ince & Co is the only law firm with two nominees for the individual awards categories.

The nominations

Rania Tadros

The team nominated Rania for the award because she is a truly inspirational leader and a great advocate of gender diversity and in particular in the maritime sector. Rania, a mother of two young children, is very supportive of women in the workforce and currently manages a team of 16 male and 20 female members. She ensures equal opportunities and supports women in their careers with and without families. She is a perfect example of keeping a balance between managing a stressful job, and even excelling at it, and spending time with her family. We don’t know how she does it, but she does! Rania became head of office in November 2014 and her practice has always focused on shipping/offshore energy disputes as well as commercial support to companies in the shipping and offshore sectors. Rania has authored many articles for sector related publications and in addition to speaking at Ince & Co events is frequently invited to speak at the industry’s leading seminars and events. For example in November she will be speaking at the inaugural Dubai Marine Insurance Seminar, Shiptek and ADIPEC.

Paul Katsouris

In December 2017, Paul moved to Ince & Co and immediately became an integral part of the team here. He has a strong background on both the litigation and transactional side. In July, he started a three-month secondment at one of the firm’s client’s offices and while on secondment, his commercial and legal input was instrumental in helping a small team deliver an aggressive expansion programme. Outside the office, as an active member of the UAE maritime community, and an alumnus of the City University, London, he has been actively assisting the university with the launch of their new LLM Maritime Law program (offered in cooperation with the DIFC Academy of Law) in the UAE. In recognition of his contribution, Paul was honoured with a position of the City, University of London MENA Advisory Board. Previously, Paul was named Seatrade Young Person of the Year. He is a regular guest speaker at shipping and technology conferences, having been invited to moderate an innovation session at NorShipping 2017 in Oslo.

We will be supporting Rania and Paul tonight when the live voting will reveal who this year’s winners will be.

We would also like to use this opportunity to congratulate those clients who have been nominated for the “Legal Counsel of the Year” award and wish them the best of luck!
