Ince & Co is delighted to announce that the firm’s Greater China Team has won awards in five categories of the 2016 China Business Law Awards, including Anti-bribery & Compliance, Aviation & Shipping, Insurance & Reinsurance, International Trade and Structured Finance & Securitisation. The results were announced by China Business Law Journal in February.

The annual China Business Law Awards are based on hundreds of nominations received from China-focused corporate counsel and legal professionals around the world. Winners are carefully chosen considering each firm’s landmark deals, cases and other notable achievements over the past year.

For the last three consecutive years, Ince & Co China has been the winner of the Aviation and Shipping category, which demonstrates the firm’s consistent performance as trusted legal counsel in the transport and logistics sectors. This year’s nomination included recent work, following China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) campaign, showcasing substantial long term contracts of affreightment and asset purchases for various clients - deals worth several billions of US dollars.

The firm’s International Trade practice was recognised for its support to public and private sector clients with a breadth of coverage throughout Asia and across the world. The firm was also recognised for its strength in insurance and its extensive experience in defence and coverage advice, product development and regulatory, direct business and reinsurance.

Paul Ho, head of Shanghai office and  key member of the firm’s China group, said:

“We have significantly expanded our transactional and dispute resolution capabilities in Greater China over the past year and are delighted to have been recognised in so many of the categories in our core sectors. It is particularly pleasing that we have been acknowledged in the Anti-bribery & Compliance and Structured Finance & Securitisation categories for the first time, which are two of our fast growing practice areas”.
