Vacation Scheme

Running during the spring holidays, our two-week vacation scheme gives you a practical insight into our practice and a taste of life as a trainee at Ince.

With us, you’re not confined to just ‘shadowing’ someone, you will have the opportunity to contribute to live cases. You’re encouraged to learn about all the departments that the firm has to offer and the type of work a trainee would typically be responsible for. With the chance to do real legal work on live cases there are some wonderful opportunities to widen your experience – and it’s up to you to take them.

We welcome a small intake for the vacation scheme at any one time so that we can give you all the attention and support you need. Sitting with a partner, and with an experienced trainee assigned as your ‘mentor’, you’ll work on real cases – which may involve attending court and hearings, meeting clients, drafting correspondence and doing legal research.

As part of the scheme we’ll arrange for you to see work in practice, with a tour of the Royal Courts of Justice and the Lloyd’s building. You’re also welcome to attend any of the many in-house lectures and training sessions that may be taking place over the fortnight. And, on top of all this valuable experience, you’ll also receive a payment of £300 per week.

During the vacation scheme, you will be considered directly for a training contract without the need to attend any further assessment centers.

We will be accepting applications for our 2020 Trainee Recruitment Placement Scheme between 1 October 2019 and 26 January 2020.
