The Role
We are looking for a new Tax Assistant Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who is looking for a challenging career in Tax to join a well-established and reputable firm. The role involves working with clients of all sizes and focuses on providing services to the very important UK oil and gas and energy sectors of the UK economy. No prior knowledge of oil and gas taxation or sector experience is required. The individual will build their technical knowledge and understanding through day to day, on the job training. The candidate will join the small team and have the opportunity to work with and learn from all the tax professionals at CW Energy.
The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and willing to learn. This a mixed tax role with the candidate managing the delivery of both tax compliance and tax advisory engagements.
Role Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support to Partners and Managers to assist with their portfolio of clients.
Prepare and manage the preparation of draft corporation tax and petroleum revenue tax computations and returns for a portfolio of clients, take responsibility for ensuring their tax computations are prepared on a timely basis.
Understand the client requirements at the start of each compliance cycle based on instructions received and timetable agreed with the client and deliver work in accordance with those requirements.
Assist with other ad hoc tax compliance work including tax accounting.
Manage the delivery of tax advisory engagements including preparing written advice in respect of transactions and restructurings.
Identify technical issues, prepare technical analysis and liaise with senior colleagues to resolve technical positions.

Person Specification
Educated to degree level (2:1 or higher)
ACA, CTA or similar professional qualification with at least one year post qualification experience
Strong attention to detail and excellent computer skills
Excellent team working, problem solving and organisational skills
Strong interpersonal skills are required in addition to oral and written communication skills
