United Arab Emirates

We have had a presence in the Middle East since 2006, when we opened our Dubai office to support the increasing number of clients in the region. Since then we have more than tripled in size, advising on both contentious and transactional matters on a local, regional and international scale.

We are renowned for the depth and breadth of our legal services and our understanding of the industries we serve. We recognise our clients’ needs and offer focussed legal services with a wide business perspective, together with advice that makes commercial sense.
From our Middle East base in Dubai we are licensed to practice both UAE and English law. The UAE is a hub for the Middle East when it comes to the settlement of disputes. In this regard we conduct arbitrations under DIAC, ADCCAC and ICC Rules and mediations through various bodies. We are registered with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and have rights of audience before the DIFC Courts. In the UAE Courts we use local counsel to appear under our supervision. If the dispute is outside the UAE we have a network of trusted local counsel who can assist, under the supervision of our Arabic speaking lawyers, with any issues a client may encounter.
Combined, the partners in our Middle East team have over 100 years of international legal experience between them. They are supported by dedicated lawyers who specialise in one, or more, of our core business areas. Our team includes a number of Arabic speakers qualified in and familiar with the laws of other states in the MENA region, as well as being experienced in UAE law.

Our clients are located throughout the Gulf States, Africa, the Middle East, India, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Where we don’t have an office we have relationships with correspondent lawyers. We frequently act as the interface between clients and local counsel because of the value we can add through our industry experience.

Our broad corporate and commercial practice advises on contracts and financial agreements including Islamic finance.

We offer advice on all aspects of company law, mergers, incorporation, restructuring, joint ventures and advise on UAE employment law.
